I've finally managed to get all my tunes and sets uploaded to soundcloud! Here's the playlist:
So people asked. Why would I want to DC offset you ask? Wouldn't that kill a speaker?
My answer is not that exciting. Rather lame actually.

That's it.
I'm going to take a break on this post and let you guys take the stand. I think it would be a great idea to get everyone who reads this site to post their #1 top tip when it comes to producing. It could be on mastering, laying down a tune, synthesis, how to set up your room, a keyboard shortcut, how to get out of a rut.... The collective knowledge of all of us is pretty impressive already, so putting all our top ideas forward sounds pretty damn helpful.
Even if you are really new, let other new people know what 1 thing has really helped you so far.

My Tip :
If you find yourself sitting in front of the computer not making any progress on creating that sound you want, try restricting yourself to one single synth or one single task. Most of the time people ask me for advice on how to get out of a creative rut the answer is immediately obvious when I look at their sample directory or VST folder... TOO MUCH CHOICE! It's one of creativity's biggest enemies and can drain a lot of your good ideas.
You don't have to go deleting everything, but try and learn one versatile synth inside out (Operator, Massive, Gladiator 2 etc). Once you know the ropes and get fluent at working that synth, you can get the results you want more quickly, which equals more excitement, which equals more speed and quality!
Now you go...
I'm working on one of my silly little ideas that may or may not have an interesting outcome, but I am stuck at a brick wall and need someone with a good knowledge of waveforms to help me out.
What I am trying to do is intentionally move a single triangle shaped wavelength up, so it is DC offset, with its bottom point hitting zero. It's not too important that it is accurate, the basic question is what can I do, in Ableton or another audio editor, where I can intentionally achieve this, ideally with any wave.
Does anyone know how I can do this, or if there is any software out there that could actually let me draw my own wave? I've done it by accident before due to sloppy mastering/editing... but I only know how to fix it, not actually create it.
