20 High Def videos covering the creation of a tune from start to finish, with a huge focus on 16 full power bassline patches, as well as 20 Ableton live project files to match each video.

I begin by laying down a drum beat, adding some fills, giving it some groove, then jump straight into the synthesis of heavy basslines. I start basic, explaining how things work, why things do what they do, the tools you have available, and end up with some of the most advanced and unique tricks and techniques my mind can come up with. Including:

• Subtractive synthesis
• Exploring the harmonic series
• Frequency modulated (FM) synthesis
• LFOs, Envelopes and Filters
• Racks, Chains and Macros
• Audio and Midi effects (including the vocoder)
• EQing, Levels and Compression
• Many other outside the square techniques to get unique sounds

Even if Dubstep/Glitch hop isn't your flavor, the straight to the point "no f#@ing around" pace should get your brain juiced up and ready to smash out your own style.

If you've been following me on Facebook or Twitter (or stalking me in real life), you'll know that over the last few weeks I have been developing a new tutorial series titled "The Bullshit Free Dubstep and Glitch Hop Power Course, Extreme" that covers writing a tune from start to finish, with a particular focus on powerful basslines.

There's 20 High Def videos all up, and 20 Ableton Live sets. It's almost completed uploading (a lot of data!), so I thought while I wait I would ask the community what they thought would be a reasonable price to charge for the DVD.

After 2 years of rain, dust, heat, cold, spillage, abuse and traveling around the world multiple times my lovely and hard working Macbook has decided to retire. At 7.23pm last night she passed away calmly and painlessly with the final words "I don't mind if you use other computers".

This falls at an unfortunate time for me as I have a lot of bookings and music/tutorials to make over the next few months... and the recent 6 month tour has left my reserves too low to go out and get a new one straight away.

Last time this happened I did a call out to people who follow the project to help me raise funds for a new one - and it blew me away that within 24 hours I had all the cash needed to grab a new machine and get back on track straight away.

The concept was this ... there were certain "slots" that people could pitch in for. Some of them were small some of them were big, and people who contributed to these slots got their name printed on the back of my new laptop for everyone to see.

It was so much fun going from country to country with people coming up and going "That's me!".

So, just like before I am going to repeat the process and call out for help from the amazing power of the internet.

I need a new 15" Macbook Pro.. and for this I need to raise $2000 us dollars.

Delicious Music have very very generously chipped in the first $500 to kick things off... so the remaining $1500 will be split up into slots.

20 x $10 slots

15 x $20 slots

10 x $50 slots

5 x $100 slots

Depending on the slot you snap up - your name will be perminantly fixed onto the back of the new machine, with bigger font sizes for the larger contributors.

$100 contributors also get a Ultimate Ableton DVD tutorial pack sent to them, a life time pro membership, and quote/website url of their choice under their name.

$50 contributors will get a 6 month pro membership

$20 and $10 contributors will get a 1 month pro membership.

Wow what a bloody few months I've had! You might have noticed the updates on the website have been a bit slow (I've been keeping my facebook/twitter updated however - links up the top right) because i been buzzing around meeting people...teaching...playing...partying...being a tourist... you name it.

Now I am back in Melbourne I can finally spend some time to get all the things i was supposed to have done by now finished... and that feels pretty good :)

I've got so many new videos in my head that need to be made so stay tune over the next few months for those.

The album is so close to completion it hurts. I'll update more about that soon.
