News - News

My newsletter system has failed me once again, so I am moving to a new platform... I am setting up a new system, so only those who agree to receive it, get the newsletters, as the list of users on the site is getting big and I can't just send out mail outs to everyone anymore! But, if you are keen to still get these updates, there is info at the bottom of this mail out on how you can ensure you keep getting them in the future.

I understand it's an extra step you personally have to take, but it will only take a couple of clicks and you'll be locked back in! If you think these are boring and spamming up your inbox, simply do nothing, I won't have a winge :)

Hiya!

So on to the actual news... I have some new music and videos out there which ill get to soon, but first I wanted to proudly show off the back of my Macbook. If you hadn't caught up with this, when my computer died some months ago, I did a call out for help, and managed to raise enough money to get a brand new Mac! Those who contributed certain amounts got their names forever placed on the back as a token of thanks.. and after a few failed attempts, I am happy to say it is done and looks freaking sweeeeet! have a look

thanks

Woop :) Thankyou thankyou so much

I've moved back from the big brother Australia to New Zealand with my partner, and we have settled down in Christchurch for another 8 months or so while we plan the next big adventure once the European summer kicks off.... hoping to touch as many countries and bases as possible this time around, but I'll let you know more about that as it shapes over the next few months.

I'm really really enjoying being back in NZ with my friends and family... what a tight, close and amazing scene we have here. A great thing to come home too.

TUTORIAL VIDEOS : AAhhh right... so on the Tutorial Video front, the Introduction to Digital Audio Production series is now complete and online! This is a 10 part/10 hour long series on how to write a tune from complete scratch... with on going commentary from me explaining how everything is done, in depth. A great starting point if you want to jump head first into the world of electronic music production.

The 10 part series (in HD btw) and the accompanying Ableton Live file (so you can open it up and see how its made yourself) is available for Pro Members.... but if you don't want to download over 4.5 gigs of content, I have put together some DVD packages containing the series, as well as various other videos and Ableton packs I have done. You can check out these packages in the link below - I will post these anywhere in the world right to your door.

Awsome.

As far as music goes, I have about 5 tracks on the go that are very nearly complete, but none of them are 100% yet, but I thought I would render down a preview of one I am working on so you can hear how its going, and reply to this email with some feedback... so have a listen and if you have any thoughts, let me know.

As far as gigs go, I am going to be playing up in Wellington next weekend (17th), and then in Auckland the following Friday (23rd). It's exciting for me to get up to the other two main centers, It's been quite a while. There's some pretty decent acts playing at these parties as well... more info can be found on my Front Page - http://www.cosm.co.nz

Alright I might leave it there for now, enough talking. Hope your doing all great and stuff, make sure you have a listen to that tune and be as critical as you can be bothered doing.. it's quite fun writing a tune based on a large amount of feedback...ill email out the final result in the next installment (make sure you sign up to receive the next mail outs!)

Much thanks,

-Tom

Hi Tom,

Listening to the preview of your latest tune... REALLY like it. Great deep intro, and then the drop is super funky and stripped back. Can feel this being one of your openers?

I love it how the breakdown leads you down this path of light and airyness and false sense of security, and then the drop takes you right back to the dirt!

Nice stuff, was looking for things to critique, in order to provide some constructive criticism, but i got nothin. Send that baby off to the press.

CHUR!
