HanHan created a new topic Music Theory Lessons in the forum.Hey guys, I just wanted to say that ever since I've been here I've seen tons of people asking about theory so... I wanted to know If anyone would like it if I did an online workshop via Skype for free. I don't really have a lesson plan or anything at the moment, and I'm not sure if there is a way to have a skype conference with multiple people, I just wanted to see if anyone would be interested. So if it sounds like a good Idea let me know and I'll try and set it up.

HanHan created a new topic Bland Feeling Music in the forum. So I've run into a problem... Well Maybe, I'm not sure. So I have a lot of music I've been working on but I feel like the more I try and work on it the more I feel like pieces of it are missing and overall it just starts to sound bland and uninteresting and I stop wanting to work on it. I've tried adding parts so its less repetitive, and varying dynamics but it kind of still feels to the same. So my question to everyone here is... How do you make your music exciting in the sense of building tension and releasing it, also does anyone else ever feel this way I have considered that working on and listening to something about a billion times just makes me not like it anymore.

Hello!
I have a question as to how everyone gets from their original ideas to a finish product. Up until this point I have been recording clips in session view and then using an APC40 to launch and record them in arrangement view; however, this doesn't do much more than provide a sketch for the finished product. Now seeing that Tom works strictly in the arrangement view I am a bit conflicted as I like very much working in session view and doing a great deal of improvising but it would probably take 50 to 60 clips to make a finished track and more buttons than the APC40 has to launch all the clips. So my thinking now is to record my ideas into the session view, transport them to the arrangement make some additions to get rid of repetition, then delete my stuff from the session view and rearrange it into sub-mixes, then port it to a final product and make it into a version for playing live.
As you can see this seems like it is very time consuming so I'm looking to see how everyone else sets up their workflow to see if there is a more efficient way to do this.
