Tom Cosm is an electronic music producer, performer and teacher from New Zealand, creating a sound of distinct glitchy grooves transposed into all styles and genres sure to lock you in the zone.

Giving all his music away for free yet maintaing a full time living as a musician, Tom has built his image up using various other fun and interesting mediums of promotion, with the main being his passion for teaching and interacting with others as he travels.

Keeping the whole project “open source” and using social media to heavily interact and include his fans in future decisions, the COSM project is constantly evolving for the better, playing off all the new and interesting opportunities that arise from an industry which is constantly and rapidly changing. He’s got his finger firmly fixed on the pulse.

Music

Tom has a passion for exploring all genres and can perform a live set covering a range of styles or just stick to one in particular, however one strong theme always remains throughout - it’s always fun, funky, and intricately glitchy. Whether you want to pick and mix genres, go for a lucky dip or stick with a steady progression of just one style, you can be sure Tom will impress with a unique live performance.

His shows are energetic, interactive and truly live, constantly driving off the vibe of the dance floor and adapting appropriately to give the punters something to talk about well into the future.

Teaching

As well as performing, Tom has a great passion for teaching production and performance as he moves around the globe. He is New Zealand’s only Ableton Certified Trainer and often works with Ableton to promote, spread and give the gift of music production.

He teaches confidently all over the world including Russia, USA, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe.

Nicknamed the Ableton Guru, he manages a 13 thousand member strong interactive social media website with over 30 hours of self produced tutorial videos, lessons and downloadable resources, as well as hosting a thriving community forum where people can interact and collaborate.

Promoters often book Tom for both a workshop and a performance, helping pack the club out with eager minds before the event has even begun.

Experience

With 6 years of touring under his belt, Tom has performed and taught in over 30 countries at both festivals and nightclubs. Some highlights include Boom Festival (Portugal - 2006, 2008 and 2010), Burning Man (USA - 2011), Brain Busters (Japan - 2010 and 2011), Ultra Groove (Brazil - 2009), Rainbow Serpent Festival (Australia - 2007 - 2011) and Trimurti Festival (Russia - 2010).

He has a professional yet friendly manner and is always efficient, punctual and confident (while still being a super fun guy to hang out with!).
