Hi guys, After following some of Toms tutorials I tried to make sort of a dancetrack. I really don't know what to think of it.
It's not a style I've done before and to me it sounds like stuff I've heard many times allready.
Maybe some feedback can help me out. Like to hear from you. Pim

Hey mate..

Cool track. Very smooth. Relaxing sort of sound. Dance? Yeah but it is not hardcore..:)

I would look at the punch of the kick. Bring it forward. Bass line. Sub as Juan suggested..upto you. Great start.

Hey mate,
I'll check the kick again and give it a try on your bass suggestions. I'll try to make my next dance-attempt to be more explicit, or 'strange' or something. To me this one sounds a bit to much mainstream. I let you know. Thx for your comments.

hey mate I left some comments on SC before I saw this thread hehe :)

I think you could beef up the low end a bit, especially if you've set out to make a dance track.

Also, to the guys above, hope you had a listen to his non dancey stuff... I want more of that! hahaha jk man, we're all on our own journey, right now I'm forcing myself to write a glitch track, yup.

Anyway, ty for sharing, nice work
I run a weekly podcast & blog promoting independent music I find on Souncloud -> www.weeklypodcast.net

Hey mate,
thanks for your comments, and nice of you to mention my other stuff. I really don't know if dance is the direction I want to go, but sometimes you have to try something new. Allways learning something out of it and you never know where it takes you. Good luck with your glitch track. Like to hear it when it's finished.LifeOnMTV wrote:

Good effort on a first dance track. I agree that a sub bass is needed so that you feel the music more, that's really important in a club. Side chain compression will help your kick come through. Tom is constantly pushing us to try new styles to push ourselves, good move.
