Hey guys, I've put my Damon Breakz live act on hold for now just focusing on Damon Breakz releases for Cosmic Core for a while. So, all my live performances now will build on my UK samba performances and the Brazilian music network I am part of here from my experience playing in Toque Tambor.

Thanks. Ideally, anything made in Photoshop would have been great to use, but I don’t have it. If you want something quick just search “free logos online” that’s what I did.

CopaBacana's first practice will be on Saturday afternoon, can't wait!

I am also getting a few Bossa Nova drum lessons off of the drummer from The Filthy Youth, he seems pretty good , having studied all styles in California. I just found out this morning that his band's singer, who is also from my town, went off to become an actor in top US TV series, so their music has been on US TV shows and got a lift from that. So he's a proper drummer. I should learn a few things..if only 20 minutes a month :/ but it's a start!

I've been learning lots of new samba percussion too. I'm playing complex repique parts even though it's only the 3rd or 4th time I've ever played one at samba practice, so hopefully I will feed this back into Damon Breakz when my alter ego starts up the live stuff again. if I can play mad rhythms on electronic pads...wow...

but for now (apart from a Damon Breakz DnB remix for the Cosmic Core genre album) I'm focused on guitar , voice, singing in portuguese and gr00vy Brazilian beats.

That's the Cuica. We don't really use it in our Samba band, but I like them a lot. It's a skill to play, I will try to get one for my Bossa band for our cover of a song called Carol Carolina, you hear it at the start here:

We had our second practice on the 1st of Sept. Sounding really good already. My own solo Bossa recordings have got some really good feedback from Brazilians online and we will be playing the same arrangements in the band, so I am confident we will go down well.

We will make some rehearsal recordings which we'll release on our soundcloud soon. We could even have our first gig (half hour set) on 20th October at a big Brazilian music event in UK. Let's see...fingers crossed!
