Hi, so of course like many my ultimate dream with doing dance music is to be one of those top producers, playing to millions of people around the world etc etc...I figured I'd probably have to get on a super big record label for all of that. . .but for now, I'll just let that be a dream (i.e. wait till I acquire that supreme luck needed to land a contract at one of the biggest labels for dance music). I heard somewhere that most labels master you stuff for you :o which I think is awesome Where I live getting someone to master a track runs about 200-500 dollars a track (dont have a credit card/cant pay pal atm so cant get it done back in the states or overseas for way cheaper) SOoooo. . .since labels master your stuff for you, I figured hey, why not join one? So. . .if anyone knows some decent small to medium labels (either in the states, canada, uk or europe) that can master my stuff and get it onto beatport or whatnot, that would be awesome! so please tell me/link/pm etc. . . ;)

oh, my genre is progressive house/electro house/ hosue/ and a little dub step stuff... here is a link to my sound cloud if anyone is interested:

in the meantime, I'll be working on getting perfect mixdowns for my tracks :)(:

Good luck with it man.

You'll have to get the perfect mixdown first imo. Mastering will not fix a bad mixdown, I've had several tracks mastered before. Listen to a 'pro' track, then listen to yours and compare (regardless of what you're using to listen to them). If yours isn't at least 95% of the way there without mastering, then it's never gonna be there unless you fix the mixdown.

The mastering engineer will be trying to make your track sound the same in mono as it does in stereo, and maybe also bring the levels up a bit, but generally speaking they can't really re balance the elements in the mix for you, not too drastically... not really, unless you're talking about stem mastering which is generally used by bands afaik (and of course some big name producers who only lay down an idea and then let others mix it for them for one reason or another, kinda like bands do ;);))

My opinion/experience, maybe others will offer theirs.
I run a weekly podcast & blog promoting independent music I find on Souncloud -> www.weeklypodcast.net

Remember to smile! It confuses people :)

Yeah mate i completely agree with Jaun, mixdown is key and there is soooo much to learn here. learn your own sound first and become comfortable with your DAW, then you can experiment with sounds and then send Demo's out etc. Mastering is expensive so why risk spending a fortune on a poor track, other peoples ears and opinions first are priceless.

Also check your inbox, i sent you that rack your having problems creating ;)
